Accepting the Quest[]
Seagram
- "Hmm, wait a minute. You said your name is <Envoy>, right?" Seagram eyes you suspiciously.
Envoy
- You nod, although you're not sure what's going through Seagram's mind. You're still thinking how you might convince the Sanknie Alliance to lend their support to the Church.
Seagram
- Seagram begins to laugh, seeing you thinking so hard. "I owe you my thanks, <Envoy>, though it seems you might not know the whole story."
- "Just a few months ago, I made a large deposit of some expensive jewelry in the bank in Navea. But one of the collection's prize pieces, a certain ruby necklace, was stolen while the bank was transporting it to a higher-security vault."
- "I recognized your name because Thorne told me who recovered my necklace from the thief." Seagram nods, smiling.
Envoy
- You recall how, when you first came to Navea, you helped Thorne the banker recover a certain necklace from Fleet Footed Andy the thief. You never suspected you'd meet its owner, especially not like this.
Seagram
- "I can vouch for you, but the decision as to whether the Sanknie Alliance will throw its financial support behind this coalition you're putting together isn't up to me. The man you'll need to talk to is Hayes, out in the Star Sand Desert. He's one of the Alliance's project directors."
- "At the moment, Hayes is in a bit of a bind with one of his big projects. If you can help him out, there's a strong chance he'd return the favor."
- "The real challenge, <Envoy>, is that you must first earn Hayes' trust. The rich have many would-be 'friends', and successful merchants tend to harbor healthy amounts of doubt about all kinds of people."
In Progress[]
Hayes
- "Hey, what are you doing wandering around here?"
Completing the Quest[]
Envoy
- You introduce yourself, and tell Hayes the reason you've come.
Hayes
- "I wouldn't expect you to know this, but even our division based out of Palmgil Oasis is currently in a financial pinch. In fact, the way things are going now, we could have our line of financing cut at any time."
- "If I don't even have the money to cover my own expenses, how does the Church expect me to help them? I'm not a golden goose." Hayes' flustered look couldn't be clearer.
- "If it's part-time work you're looking for, though, that's a different story. Pay a visit to Ben, our division's guard captain. We're always in need of more people - mercenaries especially."
Envoy
- Hayes seems to be stressed out by his circumstances. All you can do, at this point, is follow Seagram's advice. Maybe taking a job with the Alliance's crew at the oasis will build their trust in you.
