- "Guh... What is all this stuff for? Next time he'll probably ask me to do his laundry, too." Merle reads impatiently over Akara's list.
- "So... <Envoy>, two types of spiderling mucus are needed to hatch the egg. We're to put it in a crystal bottle." Merle rummages around in his cart and pulls out a crystal bottle. "The instructions say we need to mix the two substances to get the reaction we want."
- "You can find the Spiderlings out here on Cactus Plateau. When you've mixed the ingredients, just put the bottle back in the cart. I don't want to touch that nasty stuff."

- "I wasn't expecting that. I guess mixing those two types of mucus generates heat. Where did this guy study chemistry, anyway?"
