Etymology

Nalani is based on Brahma, the creator god in Hinduism and part of the Trimurti, alongside Vishnu the preserver and Shiva the destroyer. Unlike the other two, few Hindus actually worship Brahma and there are very few temples dedicated to him. He is sometimes viewed as the physical embodiment of the otherwise formless Brahman, the ultimate reality.

'Nalani' is derived from Nālani, which means "the heavens" in Hawaiian.
